Gun ownership should be banned in order to reduce crime rates and ensure the protection of our nation’s people. Throughout the United States, gun control has become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide, and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of harming innocent people while declining the police’s power to establish safety in society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying its purpose to the public. Because of the scarcity of the archaeological record at the stone rings, any attempts toexplain the functions of the structures are guesses. Most attempts tend to reflect thecultural relatedness of their times. Most people believe that these rings were constructedby a group of people called Druids. This idea of Stonehenge being constructed by Druids has become deeply implantedin the uneducated minds of popular culture from tie seventeenth century to the present. Itis common knowledge that the druids had nothing to do with these rings. The Druidsflourished after about 300 B.C., more than 1500 years after the last stone rings wereconstructed. Even more, there is no evidence that suggests that the Druids even usedthese stone rings for ritual purposes. Any Druidic connection with the stone rings ispurely hypothetical. During the nineteenth and early twentieth century, prehistorians attributedStonehenge and other stone rings to Egyptian and Mycenean travelers who were thoughtto have infused Europe and Bronze age culture. With the development of carbon 14dating methods, the infusion-diffusion of British Neolithic history was abandoned and themegalithic monuments of Britain were shown to predate those in most other countries. While the carbon 14 method provided approximate dates for the stone rings it was no useexplaining their function. In Period I (radiocarbon-dated to3100 B.C.), Stonehenge was a circular ditch with an internal bank. The heavy dependent on only one market has made the company dependent on the economy of US and this was depicted recently with the loss incurred by the company due to the ailing recession in the US market. The company has almost no control on the quality of its products as the products are acquired through vendors worldwide, with no vendor contributing in more than 5 percent of the products, goods and services. As a result the recalls for the products by Lowes have been extensive, e.g. gas grills by Sagittarius Sporting Goods, of China, hammock stands by Shin Crest etc. This has considerably effected the brand image as well as the perception of the company in the minds if the consumers in the market. Moreover the company has also been recording weak returns on its investments which are 3-5 percent lower than even the industry averages. This depict that the company has an inefficient management which is not handling the resources of the company properly. The long term effect of this problem can be the loss in the confidence amongst the stakeholders and the shareholders. Conclusion Recently in the last quarter of 2007, the company reported negative performance but in the first quarter of 2008 is showing considerable improvement. This indicated that the company has directed effected by the changes taking place in then housing industry in United States. Lowe's continues to win a larger share of the home improvement market. And the chain's long-term strengths its fast growth and its reputation for good service and attractive stores won't be sacrificed for short-term savings.
